Description
The Canister-Switch net launcher is Ace Capture’s core unit.
Designed originally for deer capture, its versatile design enables configuration for the following:
- Small to medium-large animals
- Herbivores and/or feral animals
- Select predators
- Animals that can be approached on foot
- Truck or helicopter capture
- Urban, suburban and remote situations
- Scrub, light forest, grassland, arid, desert and alpine environments
The detachable canister system allows nets to be pre-packed prior to entering the field. After firing, the spent canister is released and a canister with a dry, debris-free pre-packed net can be clipped on and readied to fire in around 60 seconds.
For operators who require extremely fast follow-up shots, the Breakaway handheld unit offers a reload time of around 5 seconds
Each launcher is set up to suit the intended use. This includes net size, net mesh and twine, and load strength.
Standard configuration (Deer, sheep, goats, wild ungulates, dogs, ostriches, cassowary, emu and other medium-sized, medium-weight animals and birds):
- Net Launcher

- Net: 4x4m, 350mmFM, 2mm twine
- Load: 18-22 grains/120-140psi
Light configuration (Domestic cats, raptors, pelicans, turkey, waterfowl and small to medium-sized, lightweight birds and animals):
- Net Launcher
- Canister
- Net: 4x4m, 125mmFM, 1.5mm twine
- Load: 18-22 grains/110-140psi
Heavy configuration (Cattle, elk, moose, other medium-large, heavyweight herbivores):
- Net Launcher
- Canister
- Net: 6x6m, 500mmFM, 2.5mm twine
- 22 grains+/140psi
Other configurations, including for helicopter capture of predators and large herbivores, are available on request.
Please note: some animals move so quickly that effective net capture is only possible from a moving vehicle. Please contact us if you’re unsure.
